Why one to one

Your dog stays with one pair of hands.

In a lot of salons a dog is passed along a line — one person bathes, another dries, someone else does the cut. It's efficient, but it means your dog spends the day being handed between people it doesn't know.

Kaci doesn't work that way. She takes one dog at a time and does the whole groom herself, from the first brush to the final trim. Your dog meets one person and learns to trust them — and because she isn't juggling three at once, she can work at your dog's pace.

Never hurried

A full groom is booked as ninety minutes to two hours, and that's the time it gets. Nothing is rushed to clear the table for the next dog.

The same hands, every visit

Kaci does every groom herself, start to finish. Come back in six weeks and it's the same person again — which matters more to a dog than most owners realise.

Honest about what's possible

If a coat is too matted to save, we'll tell you before we start and explain the options. Comfort comes before the haircut, always.

    Doodle coats grow quickly and hold their shape beautifully once they're scissored properly — which is most of what a full groom is. Bath, blow dry, brush right through, then the slow, careful bit with the scissors.

    Hello, I'm Kaci

    I've been grooming dogs for years. KC's Canine Spa is based inside Beauty Paws on Wellington Way, right in Waterlooville town centre.

    I'm City & Guilds qualified and fully insured, and I groom one dog at a time — the whole groom, start to finish, so your dog isn't passed between people. If your dog is nervous, elderly, reactive around other dogs, or has simply had a bad experience somewhere else, just tell me when you book. We can go slowly, split it over two visits, or have a meet-and-greet first with no clippers in sight. There's no rush and no judgement.

    Things owners ask

    How long will my dog be with you?
    Usually between ninety minutes and two hours for a full groom, depending on size and coat condition. Kaci takes one dog at a time and does the whole groom herself, so you drop off, she gets straight on with it, and you collect when it's done.
    My dog is nervous. Can you still groom them?
    Very often, yes. Tell Kaci when you book and she'll take it at your dog's pace — a shorter first session, splitting the groom over two visits, or just coming in for a fuss and a biscuit with no grooming at all the first time. She can usually put you in a quieter slot too, if that helps. If we genuinely can't do it safely we'll say so and point you towards a vet or a behaviourist rather than push on.
    What if my dog's coat is badly matted?
    We'll assess it before we start and talk you through the options honestly. Light matting can usually be worked out. Tight matting close to the skin is painful to brush and can hide sores, so the kind thing is often to clip it short and start the coat again — welfare comes before the haircut. Matting fees apply where a coat needs a lot of extra work, and you'll know the price before anything begins.
    Do you groom puppies?
    Yes, and the earlier the better. A puppy's first visit is deliberately short and low-pressure — meeting the table, the water and the noise of the dryer, plus a light tidy. The point isn't a perfect haircut, it's a puppy who's happy to come back. Getting that first experience right makes every groom for the rest of their life easier.
    How often should my dog be groomed?
    As a rough guide: poodle crosses and other non-shedding coats every six to eight weeks, spaniels around every eight to ten, and double-coated breeds a few times a year plus de-shedding when they blow their coat. Brushing at home between visits makes a huge difference — ask Kaci to show you how for your dog's coat and she happily will.
    What do I need to bring?
    Just your dog on a lead. Let them have a wee before you come in, and try not to give them a big meal right beforehand. That's it.
    Where do I park?
    We're inside Beauty Paws on Wellington Way, right in Waterlooville town centre, so the town centre car parks are a very short walk away. If you're running late for a slot, ring rather than rush — it's not a problem.
    How do I pay?
    Card or cash on the day. New clients get 10% off their first groom, applied automatically — you don't need a code.
